[San Diego] Dead//Technology 3 - Yohan [Sweden]

[]

2010-11-25 @ The Club, Los Angeles, CA

For all who are not sleeping after the dinner of all dinners, we're going analog again at Kava this Thanksgiving. This month we have:

Yohan from Sweden at the controls. Yohan is a resident at Gothenburg's Shambler nights, and has been featured on K103 Bassline FM, Gothenburg's weekly radio showcase of dubstep & dnb. I know he recently stocked up on some vinyl, and from what I hear from my friends in Sweden, we're in for a treat.

EshOne - I will also be playing. I have been hard at work in the studio making some hefty dance floor focused tunes. A few recent collaborations with Miguex and Misk will also be dropped. Due to a recent coffee-on-record-crate spill incident, I've really dug into my records and have a few weird ones I can't wait to play... Perhaps a dnb set? Who knows.

Pure Boom Hi Fi will be soundscaping the Kava Lounge as well. I always love his sets because they are deep, and mixed/selected well. This guy's got a love for the huge sub bass, and can throw a bangin set down with 0% midrange. Eyes down, knees up, let's go!

Mateo Bambaataa is the equivalent of a KPBS hip hop documentary. He lays down the non obvious, the hard grooves, the weird experimental stuff you can't get out of your head even though you don't know how it sounds... all that garnished with the essential beats. When Mateo's on the decks, one can't help but to pay attention and move around.

Kurly Burrito - I saw this guy's very first DJ set at The Yard. He was all over the place, and I don't mean he was sloppy. I'm anxious to see what he puts on the platter, because he drops whatever tune he wants, knows no limit to genre or bpm, and makes it work somehow. Two words, natural talent.

The show will cost only $5 at the door starting at 10pm.
Get there before 10pm, and get stamped for free.

Looking forward to partying with you all turkey style!
