:::OUR SELECTAS for the evening:::

FLOWAH *Jungle*
(Scientific Wax / jungletrain.net)

Flowah is part of the Scientific Wax family and a respected DJ on the LA d&b scene, known for punishing the local soundsystems with the finest in heavyweight break-driven traditional jungle/d&b sounds, old and new. Will has been involved religiously with our favourite genre of rave music since 1994, when he was first influenced by listening to a mixtape called "R.A.W is Dead", made by the local jungle legend, R.A.W. Flowah says;

"I was playing stuff on Production House, XL records, and the old Prodigy stuff prior to 1994, I guess you can call it Hardcore, but it wasn't until I listened to that R.A.W tape and heard the melodic chords mixed up with those classic breaks and laced with lethal basslines, that I became loyal to Jungle music and have been since that time forward."

Flowah has played all around the L.A area on an underground basis, and has stuck to his grassroots without straying to the more commercial sounds that tend to dominate every local scene across the world. He states;

"People might have noticed that I've never changed my style throughout the whole time I've been DJing. I still favour Amen over the usual 2step tunes. It means I don't get booked as much as some of the more mainstream DJ's, but at the end of the day, I'm going to play what I like and that's it!"

Well, here at Jungletrain we like what Will plays rather a lot, and he has previously featured on Jaes' Re:instate show on the station, where he smashed the airwaves to smithereens with a more than impressive set of fine breaky goodness. Recently, Flowah flew over to London, UK, and played at the legendary Therapy event in the Scientific Wax room alongside the rest of the Scientific Wax crew, including our very own Equinox.

We're really happy to have Flowah onboard, especially for the US listeners! Make sure you check out his show on Wednesday at 21:00 - 22:30 PST. (For the European crew, this will be Thursday morning at 06:00 - 07:30 CET, or 05:00 - 06:30 BST). Flowah's show will be bi-weekly starting this Wednesday, so don't miss out!
